Kingdom Commands (Luke 10:1-16)
In Luke 10:1–16, Jesus appoints seventy others and sends them ahead of Him to the places where He Himself was going. Their mission was clear: proclaim that the kingdom of God had come near. The harvest was plentiful, but the laborers were few.
This sermon considers the commands of the kingdom: preach the kingdom, be encouraged in hardship, and serve the King. The message of the kingdom has not changed. Jesus is Lord, salvation is found in Him alone, and the church must continue to proclaim this gospel until He returns.
The work of the kingdom is not about personal pride, reputation, comfort, or privilege. Servants of the King must surrender all, trust the Lord of the harvest, and devote themselves to the mission of Christ.
