Faithful in Every Season (1 Kings 21:17–29)

In 1 Kings 21:17–29, the Lord sends Elijah to confront Ahab after the murder of Naboth and the sinful seizure of his vineyard. Ahab may have tried to excuse his actions or distance himself from Jezebel’s scheme, but God’s Word exposes what sin tries to conceal.

This sermon considers Elijah’s faithfulness in a difficult season. He is called to confront sin, contend for righteousness, and declare the truth of God’s judgment. His obedience reminds believers that speaking truth is not optional when sin brings destruction and rebellion leads people away from the Lord.

The passage also gives a striking glimpse of God’s mercy. When Ahab humbles himself, the Lord delays judgment. Even in a passage filled with wickedness and warning, God’s heart for repentance and restoration is made clear.

Faithfulness in every season means declaring the whole truth of God—not with anger or malice, but with love, compassion, and a desire that sinners would repent and turn to the Lord.
