Ransomed by His Blood, 1 Peter 1:17–21

Ransomed by His Blood (1 Peter 1:17–21)

Salvation does more than rescue us from judgment—it transforms how we live before God. In 1 Peter 1:17–21, Peter calls believers to live in reverent fear, grounded in the reality that they have been ransomed not with perishable things, but with the precious blood of Christ.

This sermon unfolds Peter’s argument by pointing to three foundational confidences in the life of the believer: confidence in the blood of Christ, confidence in the eternal and intentional will of God, and confidence in the resurrection. Each of these truths anchors the Christian life in something far greater than human effort or worldly security.

As believers navigate a world filled with uncertainty and false hopes, this passage calls them to fix their confidence on Christ alone. The ransom has been paid, the will of God has been accomplished, and the resurrection secures an unshakable hope.

Let this message encourage you to live with reverence, assurance, and unwavering trust in the finished work of Christ.

Salvation is often reduced to what we are saved from, but Scripture makes clear that it also transforms how we live before God. In 1 Peter 1:17–21, the apostle Peter calls believers to live in reverent holiness, grounded not in fear of judgment but in the certainty that they have been ransomed by the precious blood of Christ.

This sermon walks carefully through Peter’s argument, showing how the believer’s life is shaped by the finished work of Christ, the eternal will of God, and the living hope secured through the resurrection. With pastoral clarity and biblical depth, this message calls Christians to live with confidence—not in themselves, but in the redemption accomplished for them.
