Great is thy Faithfulness, Genesis 8:1-19
Great is thy Faithfulness (Genesis 8:1-19)
Genesis 8:1–19 transports us into one of the most sobering and hope-filled moments in Scripture: the year Noah and his family remained inside the ark. Surrounded by nothing but water and silence, Noah faced questions familiar to every believer—Does God still see? Has He forgotten? Will He act?
This sermon unfolds how the passage answers these questions by revealing God’s steadfast character. God remembers His people in grace, He encourages His saints through signs that He is still at work, and He speaks His word to declare new beginnings. Noah’s experience is not merely historical; it is theological. The emphasis of the passage is not on Noah’s endurance but on God’s faithfulness.
For Christians walking through seasons of uncertainty, discouragement, or long-suffering, this message offers deep assurance. The God who remembered Noah remembers His people today. The God who encouraged Noah continues to strengthen His church. The God who spoke new beginnings speaks to us through His unchanging Word.
May this passage lead you to rest confidently in the character of God—faithful yesterday, today, and forever.
